Or perhaps better 

with t in interval \( [a,b] \) the equation or asymptotic :

\( f^{[t]}(x)=\sum_{n=1}^K a_n f( t^{2n - 1} x) t^{1-2n},\sum_{n=1}^K a_n = 1 \) 

You know Im starting to get slightly serious when I start using tex.
