Longer times ago I began to discuss Andrew's superlog-solution in terms of my matrix-formulae but lost the point and then the time.
Mike's question in the other thread reminded me of that sketch - here I updated it a bit. Please excuse I've done it as PDF-file - I'm a bit tired of formatting in mimetex (perhaps next week I can reformat it to such a version).
Well, it may be a bit out dated. Also it's not really complete - however, it gives a nice insight(?) into the connection with the continuum sum and with a wider field of application of a "height" (or slog-) function in iteration problems.
