It means nothing, I just found it on flikr and noticed it was in the public domain. I thought it looked cool, that's all. It wasn't until quickfur had an avatar that I realized that it was possible, and now that I know you can, I wanted to take advantage of that feature. Is that OK?
I could also make some tetration fractals to use as an avatar, but I didn't think of that until now. I should probably do that so my avatar is more appropriate. Also, if I made a lot of fractals, I could upload them so other people could use them as well.

It means that I care deeply for a precious unborn function (the egg) that will set the world free and unify several branches of mathematics into one. When this happens there will be a renaissance (the swirl) in number theory, iteration theory, dynamical systems, special functions, and hyper-operations. But until this happens, we just have to sit, give it love, and let it hatch...
