Cellular auto for pi ?? - tommy1729 - 08/03/2016 A question : are there simple 1D cellular automatons that can compute pi approximations ? Such as pi in binary with black and white as 0,1 or as a limiting ratio of consective white vs black cells etc ... Regards Tommy1729 RE: Cellular auto for pi ?? - tommy1729 - 08/03/2016 I know rule 110 is universal , therefore with a certain imput rule 110 does the job. But im looking more for an explicit simple example. Also im more focused on the automaton , rather then the imput. I wonder about a simple black cell as a start and then an automaton that gives pi in Some way. Im looking for specific examples of non-universal cellular automaton that give pi. Conjectured cases are also nice. Regards Tommy1729 |
